CULTURE AND THE 2012 GAMES: Engaging marginalised young people through arts and sport

An timely and unusual one day London conference to debate and explore how arts and sport can reach and engage marginalised young people, especially those from disadvantaged communities.

A conference for: community and voluntary sector organisations, practitioners, schools, local authorities and statutory bodies.

Themes of the Conference: 

  • Social responsibility (covering topics like fear, safety, knife/gun crime) 
  • Citizenship, healthy living (gang culture, STDs) 
  • Skills and training (self-confidence, employability) 
  • Worklessness (benefits trap) 
  • Equalities (social exclusion)

Two, one hour sessions led by innovative practitioners and some of the young people they work with.

By Train

The nearest train (One Railway) and tube is Seven Sisters (Victoria Line) – five minute walk.
Take the Tottenham High Road exit.

By Car

On the A10, proceed north on the High Road (passing Seven Sisters station) and branch off to the left for the Town Hall Approach Rd. The centre is located on the left between the Town Hall and Tottenham Green Leisure Centre.
